Wheel of Fortune

I took three classes from Karen K. Stone this past spring.  Stone is a quilt teacher, author and designer best known for her use of color.  I wouldn't call her style scrappy.  She uses many bold colors in her blocks. 

The first class I took was Mississippi Wheel of Fortune, right.

Almost a third of the class time was spent on color theory and selection.  There were approximately 20 people in the class and she went around to all of us to critique our color combinations.  Very impressive.

Here's my fabric selection and the resulting Wheel block. 



Karen Stone was featured in the May 2012 issue of American Quilter magazine.

    Your Wheel block is STUNNING. I am researching on my way to doing one for the last meeting of a sampler class I am taking. Yours is a real model for me.
