Back To School
I'm baaaccckk. Didn't intend to take the summer off, but stuff happens. The good news is that I have an entire summer of experiences to share. School is back in session.
This is not quilt related, but I was excited to read about a new PBS animated kids show, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. Six years in the making, it is the next generation of "Mister Rogers Neighborhood", a popular childrens' show produced in Pittsburgh from 1968-2001. The characters are the offspring of some of the characters in the Neighborhood of Make Believe. Daniel, for example, is the son of the Striped Tiger.
Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood is aimed at preschoolers and teaches emotional and social skills. In the premier episode, Daniel celebrates a birthday and learns constructive ways to handle disappointment when things don't go according to plan. That's a lesson we quilters could learn!
The show premiered on Labor Day, Sept 3. Check your local PBS station for dates and times in your area, or www.wqed.org/tv.
